Dushore Area Business Association’s Winter Wine and Chocolate Walk is in full swing again this year. Saturday February 18, noon till 5:00pm Presidents Day Weekend. A great weekend to get out and about and enjoy the mountains of Sullivan County. This year along with many favorites we have a new winery joining us and two new business locations will be hosting. Dushore Agway’s new greenhouse will be hosting King Cole Winery from Friedensburg, Pa they will be paired with Purity Candies of Lewisburg. Joining them in the green house will be a walk favorite The Staggering Unicorn Winery. They truly have staggered from business to business over the years and are always able to meet the demands of the crowd. Another new host this year is Millers Hardware. Millers will Host Nomad Distillery. The old style hardware store is a perfect setting to taste test and purchase Nomad’s moonshine, bourbon, brandy, and or whiskey. Our cideries are returning again this year, Deep Roots and Colonel Ricketts. And of course front and center the wineries, Lopez, Mountain Lake, Grovedale, Three Dogs Vino, Lucci Wines, Kulpmont, Joe Perry, and Antler Ridge.
Walking directional maps will once again be available so patrons don’t miss their favorite winery. This year we suggest starting the walk at the new Agway greenhouse. Have your designated driver drop you off and begin the tasting experience with two wineries side by side and a little chocolate too. It’s a short downhill walk to Main Street where you will be greeted to left and to the right by fine wineries and adult hot chocolate at Tennett’s Iron Horse Saloon. Follow your map around town and you’ll be sure to visit everyone.
Keep an eye out for the chocolate and sweet vendors paired up with the different wineries. Mill Street Sweets from Troy is joining us this year. Many favorites are returning. Norma Lee’s Fudge, Trolley Truffles, Highland Chocolates. Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, and The Willow Tree selling wine glasses, slushy mixes, cork screws, candles, just to name a few.
Pealer Hall will be hosting the dessert contest. Stop and vote for the best looking dessert. Judging on taste will be at 3:00 pm and desserts will be cut and sold in assorted boxes at 4:00. This year Winter Wine and Chocolate Walk long sleeve tee shirts, hoodies and warm winter hats will be available for sale. Purchases can be made at Pealer Hall day of event or early sales at Jolly Trolley. Proceeds benefit DABA for their many charitable contributions.
